This little book is written by Dr. Pastor Oropeza, professor of pediatrics of the Central University of Venezuela and Chief of the Maternal and Infant Division of the Ministry of Health. It is primarily intended for the physicians of Venezuela as a help in the treatment of diarrheas of infancy. These diseases are the commonest cause of death of infants in Venezuela and result in more than one third of all the deaths in this age group.
Dr. Oropeza reviews the literature on the etiology and classification of infantile diarrheas, describes their diagnosis and treatment and writes from a practical standpoint on the best way these conditions may be controlled. The brochure, written in Spanish, is interesting and instructive.
