This little book is easily read. It contains a bibliography of 668 articles. The authors have had wide experience, having diagnosed 603 cases as celiac disease and having followed 370 of them for a long enough period to evaluate therapy with the "carbohydrate specific diet." The authors differentiate fibrocystic disease of the pancreas from celiac disease and include in the latter steatorrhea and carbohydrate intolerance.
General practitioners and pediatricians will find this book of value in the recognition and treatment of celiac disease.
