Fellowships Offered in Pediatric Hematology by Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.—Fellowships in pediatric hematology and oncology are offered by the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Department of Pediatrics, University of Southern California, to begin July 1st, 1962.
The program is designed to prepare qualified persons for careers in academic medicine and research. Some previous experience in hematology or a preclinical science related to hematology is desirable. The program is varied to suit the needs and desires of individual applicants in terms of their previous training and career plans. Opportunity is available for extensive experience in clinical pediatric hematology, individual instruction in hematology laboratory techniques, basic instruction in research techniques related to hematology, and active participation in research programs.
The Hematology Research Laboratories are staffed by 4 full-time pediatric hematologists. In addition, there is a research and technical staff of 18. The Children's Hospital contains 225 beds, averages 9,000 admissions
