The author in the preface to this edition states that prevention and early recognition of dental disease should be paramount to the modern dental practitioner and his colleagues. In order to make this a feasible program, Dr. Cohen has written this textbook in a manner and style which will serve to provide a practical approach for the enlightenment of those interested in all phases of dentistry for children.
The material is arranged in an orderly and progressive manner, beginning with embryological development of the head, face, and oral cavity and ending with a short chapter on public health aspects of dentistry for children. The book is written in a very readable style with few exceptions and is amply illustrated. The use of outlines at the beginning of each chapter and subsequent bold print subtitles add to the ease of reading. Complete bibliographies are given after each chapter.
