This attractively gotten up pocket-size booklet outlines the basic facts of infant nutrition and may be useful for those who do not have the time or opportunity to consult more comprehensive works. It is written by a nonmedical man, assisted by three members of the staff of Wyeth Laboratories. Five wellknown pediatricians—L. A. Barness, P. L. Calcagno, B. M. Kagan, C. U. Lowe, and T. C. Panos—are listed as medical advisors although the extent to which their advice was taken is not clear.
The book is readable and contains a considerable amount of accurate and valuable information. A number of excellent references are included. There is no mention of any commercial product. However, the reader who expects to obtain an unprejudiced orientation on some of the more contentious areas of nutritional knowledge is apt to come away with slightly biased views in regard to the risks of feeding infant formulas
