Abstract

This volume includes 80 review articles by 95 authors discussing almost the entire range of immunological disorders. The first part of the book is devoted to a discussion of antigens, antibodies, antigen-antibody interactions, cellular immunity, the factors affecting immune responses, and the biochemical consequences of antigen-antibody interaction. The second part deals with responses of antibody-forming cells and cells involved in delayed immune responses, as well as with dysgammaglobulinemias and hypersensitivity to infectious agents. The third part of the book deals with atopy and related disorders and includes a discussion of the immunology of atopic diseases, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic measures. The final part deals with other diseases having immunologic features, including collagen diseases, and the so-called auto-immune disorders. The authors are well chosen and their papers well written.

The book will be of great interest to practicing allergists. It will be valuable to pediatricians who deal with allergic disorders and
