This is a pedodontics textbook of 508 pages with numerous photographs both in black and white and in color. It covers a comprehensive range of subjects such as child psychology and management, dental roentgenology, eruption and dental anatomy, complications in eruption, premedication, and anesthesia.
Other subjects include dental anomalies, enamel hypoplasia, tetracycline staining of the teeth, and the various oral pathological conditions (both common and rare) described in pedodontic textbooks. Also covered are various oral results of trauma involved in this age group.
Allergies and systemic medical conditions which have oral manifestations are dealt with. Some of these include herpes stomatitis, herpes simplex, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, herpangina, moniliasis, scarlatina, rubeola, varicella, diphtheria, mumps, and others.
The remainder of the book deals with periodontal conditions, growth and development of the arches, occlusion, and orthodontic problems now commonly taught in pedodontics.
