Abstract

This atlas should prove useful to pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, and others interested in the differential diagnosis of fundus lesions. Although not limited to disorders of children, a significant portion of the text and illustrations are pertinent to the childhood age group. The book contains sections on papilledema, elevated disc anomalies which may be confused with papilledema, the differential diagnosis of disc swelling secondary to local and systemic disease, the differential diagnosis of pallor of the optic disc, and syndromes with involvement of both retina and brain. The latter including the phacomatoses, cerebromacular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa syndromes, and others. The 14 stereoscopic reels provide excellent color illustrations of the normal and abnormal fundus, including the changes which may occur over the course of time, as in early, fully advanced, and resolving papilledema.

The text is clinically and diagnostically oriented, brief, descriptive, succinct, and useful in evaluating fundus pathology. It stresses differential
