There is need for an up-to-date volume on clinical pathology of infancy. A good text would be worth the $26.50, but this book does not fulfill the need. The fault lies not so much with the articles as with the misleading title. In fact, the volume represents the edited proceeding of a meeting entitled "Applied Seminar on the Clinical Pathology of Infancy" presented on some unspecified date under the auspices of the Association of Clinical Scientists. If the book had been titled "Seminar on Clinical Pathology of Infancy" it might not have been reviewed at all, but the potential buyer deserves a word of caution about this text entitled The Clinical Pathology of Infancy.
The book is spotty in its coverage and varies from an incomplete description of methods for serum bilirubin determinations to a chapter on "cri du chat." The reviewer was disappointed that the chapter on "Laboratory Diagnoses
