Abstract

The editors of this book have gathered a selection of readings from professional journals in the hope that such a collection will serve as a teaching aid to students of behavioral development. An attempt has also been made to interest professionals in psychology, pediatrics, and the social sciences in this volume, which is designed to survey the most reliable information on behavioral development during infancy and early childhood.

In the hope of drawing the interest of those in pediatrics, this book includes works dealing with the contributions of Andre Thomas on the neurological development of the infant, sequela of premature birth, the effect of cold formulas on premature infants, and trends in infant care.

The book is divided into eight sections, containing a total of over 60 articles, including some of the early classical works in particular areas.
