This third volume of Drug-Induced Diseases differs from the previous two in that it is not the published proceedings of a symposium but, rather, a series of 27 specific review articles commissioned or solicited by the editors. In addition, the over-all approach in the present volume is to select a few of the major current drug misadventures and then deal with each in considerable depth. Most of the articles are quite exhaustive and generously illustrated with tables and excellent reproductions of photomicrographs and roentgenograms. A few of the papers are poorly organized and much too rambling. About one third of the articles relate to topics of pediatric interest: tetracycline nephropathy and tooth pathology, antibiotic neuromuscular blockade (like neomycin), drug induced lupus syndromes, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, drug abuse, and corticosteroid bone marrow depression.
