Dr. Farrow is an orthopedic surgeon at the North Middlesex Hospital, London, and Dr. Forrest is a pediatric surgeon at the Westminster Children's Hospital, London, the Children's Hospital, Sydenham, and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, Carshalton. In 1956 the authors published their first edition of The Surgery of Childhood for Nurses. It was designed to explain to the student nurse the anatomical and pathological abnormalities of infancy and childhood in so far as their surgical correction is concerned. The third edition continues in this admirable tradition; the text has been thoroughly revised in the light of the tremendous advances made in the past few years in pediatric surgery.
Nurses, today, are expected to knoe much more than their sisters of ten years ago, and this very well written and informative book provides an excellent text for the student nurse in pediatric surgery. The attempt to include more detail, within the
