Abstract

Dr. Frank Netter has collaborated with 49 authorities to produce an all-encompassing treatise about the heart. The book consists of numerous illustrations accompanied by descriptions and discussions of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, embryology, congenital anomalies, and acquired diseases of the heart. The mode of approach to a subject is similar to that presented in Ciba's "Clinical Symposia." The list of contributors to this volume includes such prominent specialists as Andre Cournand, Jesse Edwards, Charles Hufnagel, James Judde, Aldo Luisada, Irving Page, Hans Popper, Norman Shumway, Mason Sones, Lodewyk Van Mierop, Maurice Visscher, and Paul Dudley White.
