A disease similar to Reye's syndrome has been found to exist as an endemic disorder in Thailand. Autopsy evidence has established its occurrence since at least 1963. During a four-month period, 13 cases were found at one hospital, and evidence suggests it is common throughout the entire northeastern region of Thailand.
