Hyperthyroidism Under 2 Years of Age: An Unusual Cause of Failure to Thrive

Abstract

A patient with thyrotoxicosis dating from the first year of life whose condition was diagnosed at 18 months of age was initially evaluated because of failure to thrive. Thyrotoxicosis should be considered in instances of failure to gain weight, particularly those associated with increased appetite.
