This text is indeed welcome to all those involved in the care of children with neoplastic disease. It also has much to recommend it to the physician who only occasionally has need for such a reference. It is extremely helpful to have a single, small (336 pages) volume devoted to this problem and encompassing more than just a pathologic description of the various tumor types seen in children.
This book is a publication of the papers presented at the 12th Annual Clinical Conference on Cancer, and assembles the authoritative voices of experts in a multidisciplinary approach. The tumors encountered in children are reviewed. Results with various modes of therapy are discussed and compared with more recent multimodal treatment plans. Detailed dosage regimes for chemotherapy, albeit subject to change, serve as a useful basis of understanding the methodology of chemotherapy.
