This volume, which is a culmination of the Second Conference on the Clinical Delineation of Birth Defects held at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, contains some current information on several central nervous system disorders including those related to the teratogenic viruses. The early discussions at this conference were rather general but nevertheless explained the role of the clinician, the biochemist, the pathologist, and the geneticist in the recognition and classification of neurologic disease. Later presentations dealt with more specific problems including Refsum's disease, globoid cell, and metachromatic leukodystrophies, epilepsy, and cerebellar diseases. The final portion of this volume contains clinical reports of 25 selected neurologic entities.

Undoubtedly this book will find its way to the bookshelves of the medical school library and the individual whose interests lie in this area. However, the articles concerning the teratogenic effects of the rubella and mumps viruses and the survey of mentally retarded patients
