Abstract

This treatise of 411 pages and 159 illustrations constitutes a true masterpiece covering practically every aspect of the subject of anorectal malformations. The authors have reviewed the world literature in detail and refer freely to the works of others. The writing is clear and concise and the illustrations easy to interpret. The chapter dealing with the normal anatomy is detailed, practical, and compiled by a surgeon and for surgeons. The clinical observations and conclusions from case material have obviously been compiled and recorded by keen observant clinicians with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and broad clinical experience. The clinical management, preoperative evaluation, operative technique, and postoperative follow-up are dealt with in a comprehensive and detailed manner by surgeons experienced with all aspects of the problem.

This book represents the final word, and, for practical purposes, includes all that is known at the present time about anorectal malformations. It
