With Dr. Walter B. Shelley, we are examining and discussing a series of patients, many of interest to the pediatrician. Therapy is included and is in detail. The pediatricians will find little joy in the difficult problem of prepuberty alopecia areata—"remember that for some patients (and mothers?) direct explanation, understanding and reassurance are more than adequate help." References for the disorder of each patient are not just listed, but summarized tersely and well. Consultations in Dermatology are really that—consultations after the pediatrician has used the dermatology section of his own textbook.
