This is the first book in the modern trends series on genetics, published in the United Kingdom and edited by Dr. Emery of the University of Edinburgh. This first volume is advertised as directed to the postgraduate student in the field of human genetics.
The list of contributors to the 13 review articles is impressive. Almost without exception all are well known for research in their fields. A bare majority are from the United Kingdom, but almost as many from the United States and one from Sweden. Only a glance at the titles can adequately describe the subjects covered in the book: "An Appraisal of Genetic Regulation of Protein Synthesis in Higher Organisms" by S.H. Boyer, "A Systematic Approach to the Study of Enzyme Variation in Man" by D.A. Hopkinson, "Genetic Disorders of Gamma Globulin Synthesis" by R.N. Schimke and C. Kirkpatrick, "Genetics of Leucocyte Antigens in Man" by
Soukup S. Modern Trends in Human Genetics: 1. Am J Dis Child. 1973;125(2):298–299. doi:https://doi.org/10.1001/archpedi.1973.04160020106025
