Abstract

The scope of this book encompasses the broad field of skeletal and neuromuscular conditions that may be encountered in children. Mihran Tachdjian, who is head of the division of orthopedic surgery at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and professor of orthopedic surgery at North-western University Medical School, has compiled a comprehensive text presented in two volumes. The first volume includes a good section regarding diagnostic evaluation of neuromuscular and skeletal disorders, in addition to chapters dealing with congenital deformities and generalized conditions affecting bones and joints. The second volume of this text includes material related to specific conditions affecting the neuromuscular system, the spine, the leg and foot, and finally fractures and dislocations by region in each area of the upper and lower extremities and spine.
