Abstract

An 18-month-old child recovered from an overwhelming infection involving severe pneumonia, massive pleural effusion, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, and meningoencephalitis. Adenovirus type 7 was isolated from the pleural fluid. Follow-up studies revealed bronchiectasis and seizures.
