An 18-year-old girl had short stature, secondary amenorrhea, and an elevated level of serum gonadotrophins. Sex chromatin studies revealed variable numbers of X-chromatin bodies of smaller than normal size. Trypsin-Giemsa banding of the chromosomes demonstrated the deletion of part of the long arm of an X chromosome.
