To the Editor.—Because of the variety of therapies employed in Reye syndrome, Dr. Peter Huttenlocher of Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn, and I have drawn up a protocol designed to evaluate the effectiveness of frequently used regimens. The study has been devised on a multihospital basis with the following hospitals already participating: Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, Calif. (Dr. Marvin Weil); Children's Hospital of Buffalo (Dr. M. Cohen); Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta (Dr. J. Schwartz); Children's Hospital of Michigan, Detroit (Dr. J. Finnegan); and Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, Université de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, Quebec (Dr. B. Lemieux).
We would be pleased to have other hospitals join us in this endeavor.
In acting as coordinator for the study, I will provide a copy of the protocol and other information on this study to other interested physicians.
