Originally published in 1969, this glossary was developed to provide individuals working with the more than eight billion medical records found throughout the United States with uniform hospital and other health care facility reporting terms. Besides definitions and explanations of terms, formulas for statistical information, and reports were also included. Over 10,000 copies of the original volume are in circulation.
Following the same format, the 1974 edition has been revised to include new chapters on "Obstetric and Perinatal Terminology" and "Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care." Other material has been revised for easier retrieval of related topics.
