This is the first reported case of a patient with sympodia in Singapore. His features are similar to those described by other authors. The only important gestational history was that the mother had taken diphenylhydantoin sodium (Phenytoin) and phenobarbital (Phenobarbitone) in the first trimester. In view of the rarity of the condition, it is difficult to establish the role of these drugs in the genesis of this condition.
