Dr. Ishaya S. Audu, one of the front-rank pediatricians in Nigeria, was invited to address the American Pediatric Society at its annual meeting in Washington, DC, May 1, 1974.
In 1966 Dr. Audu was asked to assume the vice-chancellorship of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. In the address to follow he relates the challenges and excitement experienced in building and staffing a new medical school in that country.—Ed.
