The text has been prepared from papers presented at the Fourth Annual Burn Symposium conducted by the Burn Team of the Children's Hospital, Denver. It consists of 11 chapters prepared by 15 authors, and deals with special problems encountered in the care of children with burns. The text emphasizes that children are not miniature adults and have special physiological and psychological needs. Each chapter begins with a statement of objectives and concludes with a self-evaluation quiz. Answers to the quiz are provided at the end of the book. The book is approved as a home study textbook meeting the criteria for 12 credit hours in category 1 for the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.
