In Reply.—I concur that no valid medical indication exists for routine neonatal circumcision and I do not advocate its practice. In reality, however, some parents will continue to request and obtain circumcision for their male infants. Those neonates then deserve to receive a meticulously performed operation, using the safest available technique. In my opinion, Gomco circumcision is the preferred technique.
