Respiratory Distress Secondary to Pulmonary Leukemia

Am J Dis Child. 1981;135(8):716-718. doi:10.1001/archpedi.1981.02130320030010
Abstract

• Two children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in complete and partial remission, respectively, had severe respiratory disease that subsequently proved to be massive pulmonary infiltrates of leukemic cells. Diffuse pneumonitis may be a symptom of leukemic relapse. The diagnosis of pulmonary leukemia should be considered in all episodes of pneumonitis in children with leukemia.
