Sir.—The second printing of the tenth edition of The Harriet Lane Handbook has a serious typographical error for the infant dosage of theophylline on page 186. Please note that the infant dose for ages 6 to 52 weeks should be "mg/kg/24 hrs equals 0.2×age in weeks+5.0" (not 50).

Given the frequency with which this medication is prescribed and the potential toxicity of overdose, it is important to be aware of this correction.

Year Book Medical Publishers, Inc, Chicago, will send errata sheets on request to individuals who have copies of the second printing of the tenth edition of The Harriet Lane Handbook.
