With appreciation of how difficult and frustrating our jobs can be, I read the commentary by Silber1 on eating disorders and health insurance. I concur that "the delivery of health services to adolescents and young adults suffering from eating disorders poses a serious challenge to the US health care system." I would respectfully add that there is an even larger battle to be won with infants and children who have eating disorders. It is imperative that we as health care providers learn to diagnose and treat eating disorders in this population, just as we have learned to do with adolescents and young adults.
