In the September 1995 issue of the Archives, containing multiple appeals1-3 for cultural sensitivity, I read the phrase "100% Indian ancestry with at least 50% Navajo blood..."4 [italics mine]. The dictionary5 states that "blood" is "unscientifically used" for race or racial heritage. Allowing this insensitive usage to slip through was, I believe, an editorial error.
