To the Editor In their recent systematic review and meta-analysis, Pillinger and colleagues1 examined whether individuals with first-episode schizophrenia exhibit an “inherent risk” for type 2 diabetes. Their study has several limitations, most notably the methodological limitations of the studies contributing to the meta-analysis as well as an overinterpretation of results.
