A snapshot of a morning moment: While planning the day ahead in the clinics and also planning rotations and vacations schedules for residents and fellows, other thoughts rush in. Just as for every physician, there are the prescription requests and referral requests. There are patient portal and staff portal messages that have not been touched. But there are also the nut-free lunches for the picky preschooler and the kindergarten soccer application needing completion. There are the unfinished papers and the unwritten emails. The physician’s appointment coming up for this one and the vaccination schedule for that one. The funding requests that need to be submitted and the funding requests that need to be sent to others to complete. The birthday party that needs planning and the summer plans that require confirmation. Maintaining friendships with other school parents while making sure our colleagues are not forgotten all hangs in the balance. Oh, and did the laundry get in the dryer?
