Abstract

This is a soft-cover lithographed book which is the 13th edition since 1938. I have not had the opportunity to review the previous editions, but it is apparent that the authors have been very energetic in bringing their book up to date every three or four years. This edition contains very current procedures and concepts in neurology.

The book is intended for the beginner in neurology, according to the preface. "Our objective has been to present simply and clearly the most important structural and functional features of the nervous system as related to problems encountered in clinical neurology." Since this is the 13th edition and it is being printed in several foreign languages, it is probable that there has been widespread acceptance of it in the past years. This would suggest that the authors must have achieved their goal. In spite of this it seems to this reviewer
