The full text of the Archives is now available in MEDIS, a new online medical information service introduced in March by Mead Data Central. MEDIS has the full text of approximately 60 journals, newsletters, and books including JAMA, all American Medical Association specialty journals, and other journals in medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, public health, and surgery. The service will continue to be expanded by the addition of full-text and abstract libraries.
All text from the Archives, including letters, will be online in MEDIS soon after it is published. Eventually, issues dating back to January 1980 will be added.
The service can be accessed through Mead Data Central's customized UBIQ terminal or through a personal computer equipped with a communications device. MEDIS is designed for the inexperienced searcher and uses common language commands and tutorials. Those wanting more information about MEDIS should contact Mead Data Central, 933 Springboro Pike, Dayton OH 45401
