Lester F. Williams, Jr, MD, a member of the Editorial Board of the Archives of Surgery, died on March 4, 2002. A native of Brockton, Mass, Dr Williams received his BA degree from Brown University and an MD degree from Boston University in 1956. His internship and surgical residency were performed at the Letterman and Tripler US Army Hopitals, respectively. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1962 and was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
