Symptomatic neuromas significantly complicate the management of postoperative pain after major limb amputation. In patients who have undergone amputation, the incidence of painful neuroma is as high as 50% to 80%.1 Multiple surgical techniques have been described for addressing neuroma pain; however, there is no overall agreement about the optimal surgical management of neuroma.
