To the Editor We write regarding the recent article by Santos et al,1 which was recently discussed at an online journal club based in the UK.2 We enjoyed reading and reviewing the Laparoscopic Elective Sigmoid Resection Following Diverticulitis (LASER) trial and applaud the authors on a well-designed study. We thought that the study was well written and addressed an important clinical issue. We discussed a number of issues that we would like to raise.
