To the Editor In reference to the recent publication by Chen and colleagues1 regarding the extent of surgery for differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) associated with health-related quality of life (HRQOL), we would like to commend the authors on this important work. After 1 year of follow-up, the authors reported no association of total thyroidectomy and thyroid lobectomy with HRQOL in patients with DTC with low to intermediate risk of recurrence. Generally, this is a well-prepared study. However, we would like to raise 2 concerns regarding data interpretation and extrapolation.
