The Breast: Comprehensive Management of Benign and Malignant Diseases

Arch Surg. 2004;139(8):912. doi:10.1001/archsurg.139.8.912

For more than a decade, this book has been considered one of the primary reference texts for breast disease. The exponential increase in breast cancer research during the last decade makes updating a definitive reference text a particularly difficult if not impossible task. Kirby I. Bland, MD, and Edward M. Copeland III, MD, have met this challenge with the third edition of their renowned work.

The third edition is not just a repetition of the second. This edition consists of 2 volumes arranged into 23 sections and 87 chapters. The editors estimate that it includes about 30% more information than the second version. Bland and Copeland have recruited 147 contributing authors who are without question among the most notable authorities in the field today.
