I attended the Pacific Coast Surgical Association meeting this past February and heard all of the presentations that have resulted in the articles published in this issue of the Archives. There was an excellent panel on the program entitled “The Next Generation of Surgeons: Who Are They, What Do They Want, and How Do We Train Them?” It was moderated by the president, Michael Hart, MD, and participants on the panel included Tom Russell, MD, Marilyn Moats Kennedy, BSJ, MSJ, Carlos Pellegrini, MD, and yours truly. I would like to take a moment to share a few words of wisdom from that panel.
