This American edition of Clinical Neuroradiology is a singularly well organized and prepared text. Its panel of authors is distinguished and represents neuroradiologists from a number of Western countries, each of whom has made significant contributions in this field. In this edition there have been additions in content to render the material more current and relevant to the rapid progress made during the interval since the German language edition was published in 1960.
The introductory chapters are devoted to a discussion of basic neuroradiological techniques. Methods are presented using various contrast media and patients positions, concisely described and well illustrated, together with consideration of procedural complications. The normal anatomy, as well as the common variants are dealt with. An understanding of the radiographs is enhanced by the juxtaposition of sketches or photographs of actual anatomical specimens.
