Abstract

Comment.—The above letter brings attention to the valuable work done by Dr. Snyder and his colleagues. It also reminds one of the work of Drs. Findlay E. Russell of Los Angeles, H. M. Parrish of Columbia, Mo, Carl E. Andrews of West Palm Beach, Fla, Newton C. McCollough of Orlando, Fla, and the "Cooperating Physicians of Florida," as well as many others.

It will be worthwhile to observe the clinical results of the treatment program outlined by Dr. Pickens at his treatment center.

Several significant points that should be commented upon further are these:

1. Excision of the Snakebite With the Instilled Antigen—Although various authors had commented on this prior to the time (February 1968) that I had submitted the article referred to above, I was not sure that there was sufficient data available to include it as a part of the recommended routine and did not do so.
