Abstract

Congenital dislocation of the patella is relatively rare and requires early surgical treatment to prevent generalized degenerative changes of the knee and disability to the patient. However, the case of a 50-year-old woman who was without symptoms or disability in the affected knee and whose condition was diagnosed incidentally illustrates that the generalized degenerative changes do not always occur in the absence of early surgical treatment.
