A simple double-lumen gastrojejunostomy tube has been shown to have the following advantages: relief of gastric atony while allowing administration of fluids beyond the ligament of Treitz; protection of upper-gastrointestinal tract suture lines; and facilitation of intestinal perfusion and absorption studies such as are often carried out with more cumbersome, hastily rigged, double-lumen tubes.
