This is an impressive photographic atlas containing 762 excellent color illustrations of gross organ pathology of most common as well as many unusual lesions. The high quality of the visual format is richly complemented by a concise text, conveniently arranged on the same pages as the illustrations, and an excellent index. This monograph is designed to serve as a supplement to the standard pathology textbook for medical students, for whom it has been primarily organized and designed. In such a limited role, it fills a void that is often found in the medical school course in pathology when the availability of well-preserved specimens is difficult to guarantee.
It should also be noted that this volume is a companion to the Color Atlas of Histopathology by R. C. Curran, MD, the senior author.
Because of its primary intent, it can be recommended for any library serving the needs of medical students.
