On January 1, 1989, Ben Eiseman, MD, professor emeritus of the Department of Surgery, University of Colorado Health Science Center, Denver, retired as book reviewer for the Archives, a position he has held with unique distinction. With vintage Eiseman humor, he suggested that a fellow from Stratford-upon-Avon, England, might be available if I used FMGs! After publishing more than 350 scientific articles and 150 book reviews, does anyone really believe that Ben Eiseman has retired?
The quality of the man is better manifested by the lives he has touched than his publications.
