Error in Total Population. In the Original Article titled “Identification of Specific Quality Improvement Opportunities for the Elderly Undergoing Gastrointestinal Surgery” by Bentrem et al, published in the November issue of the Archives (2009;144[11]:1013-1020), an error occurred in the total number of patients who underwent major gastrointestinal operations. On page 1013, the first sentence of the “Results” subsection of the “Abstract” should have read as follows: “Between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2006, a total of 24 747 patients who underwent major GI tract operations were identified from the ACS-NSQIP data file.”
